We went to the grocery store yesterday to get a few items and while we were there we decided to go a little crazy and get some doughnuts. It was my cheat day so why not? Well, things didn’t go quite as we had planned, while putting the groceries away the wind caught a hold of the box and scattered them across the parking lot. Understandably upset, my husband started grumbling about how he just knew it was going to be an awful day. I tried my best the cheer him up, but only Starbucks was able to do the job. Fast forward to the afternoon, my husband’s suspicions were correct, it in fact was a horrible day… His computer crashed four days before the start of the college semester. Yep… it was a horrible day. But, there was some silver lining to our no good day! We went to Best Buy (where my hubby works) to find him a cheap computer to replace it. We found a Dell laptop that was marked down from $900 to $200; it was a floor model that was missing its battery and charger cable. Luckily, the piece of plastic we had sitting at home was a Dell so we had a spare battery and charger cable!
Thankfully, my husband didn’t have any important files on his computer. But, had it been mine that crashed we would have lost the last month of photos, including my son’s 6th birthday and Christmas. This disaster made me realize that I needed to back up my pictures. As I type this I am backing them up on my external hard drive. If your computer were to crash at this moment how many photos would you lose? When was the last time you backed them up?
This is the one that I have been using and so far it has been working out pretty great! I used to have one that was a much smaller size, but I filled it up… Opps!

hmmm, will do a back up right now I think!
Good reminder.
